Hey people, so a few weeks ago while doing some reading I came across a quote by Jerry Dunn – Don’t Limit Your Challenges, Challenge Your Limits.”  This got me thinking about my past.  You see for most of my life, where people saw this strong woman, I was at best a timid person.

I was the one who encouraged people to go after their dreams with everything they had but saw limits to mine.  So, I found myself asking the question, ‘what am I allowing to limit me?’ The only way I could answer that question was to look at my past, see where I am now and envisioning where I want to be in the future.

An undebatable fact about life is that there will always be challenges; in fact, we can’t escape them. They are meant to empower us not crush  us and our responses have to match.  I captured some thoughts on video, please take a listen.

The point of this post is if you find yourself where I was, uninspired and afraid to chase after your dreams, there is no better time than now to go after it.  One of the things I have realized is that I had to find someone to push me.

I am incredibly blessed to have so many ‘cheerleaders’ in my life. They did everything in their power to get Worship With Gladys started. That one step led to more opportunities.

A major limit for me was thinking that I didn’t have enough to get started but I did.  I just didn’t see it because fear blinded me and made me too lazy to care.

So what is a limit?  This is a point or level beyond which something does not or may not extend or pass. In the past, it was in my mind that I couldn’t do all those things I do now.  At that time, I would think up ideas, be happy about them and then five minutes later, it was abandoned because of one silly reason or the other. I could not go beyond that wall of ‘everybody else is doing it, we don’t need another blog, for example.

But, I challenged that limit by understanding there is a blog for every audience you can think of.  My audience was out there and I only needed to identify them and then write to cater to their needs.  As I alluded to in the video, I have made moves that I didn’t think were possible some three years ago but here we are today.

To challenge your limits, I find you must constantly be learning and putting that education to good use.  You should be evolving.  For example, find people that are where you want to be and learn from them.

Also, something I learned from Rev. Adeyemi is you have to let go of the things that keep you in that state of stagnancy.  It starts with a mind reset.  He also said that any thought that you hold on to long enough will ultimately become your reality.  Think about that.

The bible tells us as a man thinks so he is.  Where are your thoughts? Your mind.  Now, your thoughts come from what’s happening outside of you so whether positive or negative; you have to give permission to allow it in.  So, stop allowing the negative.

I will leave you with this scripture that I have rediscovered – Hebrews 11: 22 “So let’s do it—full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out. Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps His word.”

I encourage you, take that step today,  get up and go after your dreams! Be bold! Start today, start now.  It is in you!  You have all it takes.  Know without a doubt that you can hold on to God’s word concerning you and your vision because He always keeps His word.  Bottom line, He is a man of His word!
